It's gonna be a slight rip-off of Montmartre, a la Moulin Rouge. Boheme is the district west of Theatre, so it's still greatly influenced by the arts, except it's more run-down, so a lot of the broker artists live there. (Think Rent, 1877, except AIDs didn't exist.)
Any one with any ideas, just post 'em. I'm building and patching it right now.

Ohh, I went there once! To Montmartre, anyway. There was this square or something, with all of these artists lined up, painting/drawing/sketching the tourists. I doubt it was like that in our time period, but it was pretty interesting. And this one guy was stopping random passersby and cutting their profiles out of black construction paper. He seemed to find my nose very interesting for some reason, though I couldn't tell if he was complimenting or teasing me. I wonder if I still have that profile somewhere. This is probably no help at all, I just wanted to share my experience. As for suggestions, making lines and lines of easels like I saw would be a little obnoxious, but perhaps you could put a few outside on the sidewalk or something, so that our artist characters could do their work in public and people can wander by and gawk.

*does some actual research... wow....* Thanks for the background Soph. I definately want to make a square, both for artists, and for some gallows/stocks... seeing as we have no room for them in the QdT

Alls I want is the chandlery with an apartment (for three people) on top. But I told you that already. Are you making a Moulin Rouge? I have no one to RP there, I'm just curious.

I'm making a cabaret, yes, and it's going to be called L'Enfers (French for Underworld, because that's where it's located) The cabaret will feature dancing girls, comedy acts, and a salon for all you broke philosophers.

Perhaps docks would add a nice touch near the public art display? Perhaps an art gallery?
- Again, just a thought =)

Ha...we got lost the other day and ended up in the red-light district. X3 Positive side was that I did get to see the Moulin...and dozens of strip clubs...but that's hardly on topic...
Er...perhaps a few more dank and darkened alleyways? That would add to the ambiance. Ooh! Ooh! And a lot for the bums to hang in! *starts going into "Over the Moon"*

*Starts singing "Everyone Has AIDS!" from Team America:World Police* XD
I think that's a cool idea. And the way you make the square sound, it's almost as if it were like Mallory Square in Key West where all of these street performers and artists gather for the tourists who are waiting to watch the sunset.
And boy do I miss those gallows.... We really need these. Can someone create a killer/thief that we can hang just so you can please Dariel?

GAH! I can't sing the proper lyrics to La Vie Boheme anymore because of that song! It's always something like "To going against the grain, to going insane, and we're glaaaad" and then everyone stares at me and I feel like an idiot...but still *loves Forbidden Broadway*

Does it make me a loser that I know like all of the lyrics to all of the Forbidden Broadway songs like Be Depressed, Phantom of the Musical, Rant, This Ain't Boheme, Sossee Flossee, etc?

"I'm Cameron Mackintosh: the emperor of Broadway, I've produced every new hit shooooow~ I'm Cameron Mackintosh: Napoleon of Broadway, but there's something you ought to knooow... Though I came, I saw, I conquered with my showbusiness finesse, and my casting of Miss Saigon put the Union in distress - it's my marketting of sooouveneeiirs that's moore of a successssss~"
I'm so finished. Forbidden Broadway is the reason why I cannot take "Sound of Music" seriously anymore. xD
Yaaaay, Boheme... *does a little dance*
